 I want to highlight some of my fall classes coming up at Visarts here in the heart of VA. There is a lot of interest in natural dyeing and my interest is in doing it right - honestly how great is a color if it's going to fade in a few months or isn't wash fast. Come join me in looking at pre-1856 dyeing.

Natural Dye Explorations: Natural dyeing is a wild and wonderful adventure. Getting good color saturation and permeance can be tricky. Each color has its own ingredients, process, and history. You will work with natural fiber fabrics/yarns and explore various dye stuffs and pattern making techniques.

Spotlight on "Art Quilt Studio" starting Tuesday March 28 12:30-3:30 -running for 8 weeks at the Visual Arts Center in Richmond VA. Yes, the focus is on using quilting as an artistic expression, but we also will explore different traditional and contemporary techniques. I have a focus on improving sewing skills and tapping into your inner artist. Yes, it's a place to learn the basics if that's what you need.
