Spotlight on "Art Quilt Studio" starting Tuesday March 28 12:30-3:30 -running for 8 weeks at the Visual Arts Center in Richmond VA. Yes, the focus is on using quilting as an artistic expression, but we also will explore different traditional and contemporary techniques. I have a focus on improving sewing skills and tapping into your inner artist. Yes, it's a place to learn the basics if that's what you need.

I've been asked to teach Shibori at a week long textile retreat next June in San Miguel de Allende.

The last of my workshop offerings at Visarts is The Magic of Discharge Printing. This class may have the wrong title on the main class page but the link below takes you to the right place.
Discharge is the removal of color from a dyed fabric. I call it magic because it is! Really it's just chemistry but where's the fun in that. The results are fast and uniquely evocative looking a bit like x-rays.
